| | Parrots Up North
Following on from our articles about feral parrots in British urban centres, Birdtrader has found this article in the Hull Daily Mail about a pair of orange-winged Amazon parrots nestling in the clock tower of the St. Mary the Virgin Church in Cottingham - a far cry from their original habitat in Colombia. Apparently the pair are doing well despite the harsh winter - but in 2008, the first year that they were discovered in the tower, they were blamed for the disappearance of gold leaf from the church's clock. As Birdtrader has noted before, wild parrots are not always a good thing!
