At an auction in Belgium, a colony of 218 world-record-breaking racing pigeons has been sold for 1.4 million euros. One pigeon – Blue Prince – sold for 150,000 euros all by himself. The pigeons have been sold to a wealthy Chinese buyer. In Asia, pigeons such as these can often be status symbols.
