| | World Parrot Count
Following on from our articles about the annual Christmas Bird Counts, Birdtrader has just discovered that a joint project by the Universities of Leiden (Netherlands) and Heidelberg (Germany) will be carrying out the first ever World Parrot Count in January 2011!
The study will focus on parrots which have been introduced by man into habitats which are not their own - such as the urban parrots we discussed in our earlier article concerning feral parrots in London.
The researchers aim to discover how many of these species there are, and whether conservation is necessary. To get involved just head to the University of Leiden's website for further information!
